Murphy Media Distribution (MMD) was formed in 2017 by Ray Murphy Jr. and Albert “Buck” Kolkmeyer. Together, the partners share over 75 years of experience in the movie industry. From different vantage points in the industry, Ray, from production and Buck, from distribution and exhibition, they came to very similar conclusions. First, there is very little diversity in the selection of movies in the marketplace. Based on the success of the few diverse movies that are able to get into the market, that there is a huge untapped, underserved market. African Americans are frequent moviegoers, second only to the Hispanic community.

MURPHY MEDIA DISTRIBUTION ENTERS INTO DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH FLORIDA BASED PRODUCTION COMPANY
Los Angeles-California-September 7, 2018 – Ray Murphy Jr. of Los Angeles based distributor Murphy Media Distribution along with his business partner Buck Kolkmeyer have been quietly acquiring, developing and producing projects for both the big and small screens.
Their newest is an episodic detective drama produced by Ray Murphy Jr. in association with Black Triad Entertainment, a Florida based production company entitled “LAWLESS”.
“The storyline of this series shrinks and expands from moment to moment turning on itself like a multifaceted roller coaster ride” says Murphy. Based in Port St. Lucie Florida Black Triad Entertainment Group has worked to develop an outlet for new talent, play writes, artist and the like with a goal of establishing a studio on what is known as The Treasure Coast.
Buck Kolkmeyer, co-founder of Murphy Media Distribution, believes they have stumbled onto a gem “this is one of the most interesting cast of newcomers I’ve seen in a long time” says Kolkmeyer. Mutphy Media Distribution has recently secured other titles for distribution as well and has plans to produce several other films.
Plans for season two are already in the works. Executive producer Gloria Sousa who is the President of the Portuguese American Cultural Club of Port Saint Lucie and a member PALCUS which stands for The Portuguese American Leadership Council of the United States notes the picturesque backgrounds and rich culture provide the perfect backdrop for this series. “If the expectation of our character is to hide among that which seems to be a simple lifestyle. Our goal is to complicate and compound all of his troubles in the mystery of this coastal town that is Nazar’e.”
“The multicultural look and feel of this town will provide yet another character that our audience will have to explore. It’s back story alone adds further depth and a dangerous beauty to the story of this series” says Richard Fitzpatrick of Black Triad Entertainment Group.
